COVID-19 Update
Restrictions remain in schools
While it was great to hear that the state-wide adult vaccine rate hit 70% yesterday and that most restrictions across socials settings have been lifted, mask-wearing, social distancing and other safety protocols still remain in place in schools.  If this changes, we will notify you as well as post a note on our website. Until then, please continue to follow all of the protocols and procedures that are in place.  Governor Cuomo's June 15 update is posted here.

Returning Technology Devices
As we near the end of the school year, it is important that all district devices (Chromebooks, tablets, hotspots, computers, etc.) provided to students since March 2020, are returned.  The technology team will clean, repair and get devices ready for September.  We anticipate and are planning for a return to in-person instruction.  Below is the technology collection schedule:

June 23:  All hybrid and learning pod students will leave their SCSD Chromebooks and tablets in the classroom (they will be collected after class on June 24).

June 24: Virtual students can begin to drop devices off at the closest school location after dismissal.

June 25 - September 1:  Return all district devices to the nearest school or central office at 108 Education Drive (in the back of Mont Pleasant Middle School).

July 01:  Internet access through the portable hotspots will be deactivated.

How will devices be provided to students who attend summer school and the summer enrichment program?  Arrangements will be made through the program to provide devices for students who are participating in these summer programs.

What if parents cannot return devices due to transportation issues?  If you are not able to get to one of our schools or central office to return the devices that the district loaned to you, please call 518-881-3539.  SCSD staff will make arrangements to pick them up from you.

If you have questions about returning devices, please call the district device drop-off number at 518-881-3539.

Thank you for your cooperation.

Class of 2021 Smart Transfer Students

The Smart Transfer students began taking courses  during the Summer of 2018 as they were entering 10th grade.  In Fall 2019, as juniors, they began taking courses full-time at SUNY Schenectady.  They recently completed their associate's degree and can transfer as juniors to a four-year college to complete their bachelor's degrees.

The Smart Transfer program is a partnership of SUNY Schenectady, University at Albany, SUNY Delhi and the Schenectady City School District, funded through a $1 million grant from the New York State Education Department.
