2021-2022 Pre-K Registration

Pending the approval of the NYS Budget, the Schenectady City School District will provide a full-day Universal Pre-Kindergarten Program at each of our eleven elementary schools for the 2021-2022 School Year. Programs will also be offered at community-based organizations.

Admission is by lottery. Please complete the Pre-Kindergarten Lottery Application. On the application, please select your preference for your child's attendance zone school or a program that is run by a community-based organization.
Application Due Date: Wednesday, June 30, 2021.
The program schedule has been designed with consideration of current circumstances, guidance and regulations related to COVID-19. Please keep in mind that, depending on any changes or impact of COVID-19, details are subject to change.

The final virtual drive thru pop up for this school year will be held on June 16 from 3:45 - 5:45 p.m. at Keane Elementary School. 

Returning Musical Instruments
If you have a district-owned musical instrument, music book or equipment at home, please remember that it must be returned to school for cleaning/repair.  All school instruments regardless of condition and age should be returned.  Please speak with your student's band or orchestra teacher about summer rental, if desired.  We are holding Instrument and Music Supply Collection Days this week as follows:


Wednesday, June 9 and Thursday, June 10
11 a.m. - 4 p.m.
Central Park Middle School
Mont Pleasant Middle School
Oneida Middle School

You can return your instrument and music supplies at any of these locations or at any of Wednesday's bookmobile stops.

We can't wait for you to check out our new bookmobile.  The artwork was designed by our students.  It will be out and about on Wednesday, June 9 as follows:

11:30 a.m. - 12 p.m. - Salina Street near Yates

12:30 - 1 p.m. - In front of Central Park Middle School

1:30 - 2 p.m. - In front of Hamilton 

2:30 - 3 p.m. - In front of Van Corlaer 

Stop by and check out a book.  If you have a district-owned musical instrument, you can return it while you are here.
