Budget Vote and School Board Election
The annual school budget vote and school board election will be held on Tuesday, May 18 from noon to 9 p.m.

Budget PublicationInformation on the budget has been mailed to city residents and is posted on our website.

The $218.8 million plan represents a $14.1 million or 6.9% spending increase over the current year, adds $3.6 million in programs and services, and keeps the tax levy flat for the third consecutive year.

The proposal was developed with the assumption that there will be a full return to in-person teaching and learning in September and that all programs and services will be restored to how they were prior to the pandemic.  All district schools will be re-opened with their original grade levels, configurations and class sizes.

School Board Election
There are five candidates running for the two seats on the board of education.  Each seat is for a three-year term, beginning on July 2021.   The two seats up for election are currently held by John Foley and Andrew Chestnut.  Mr. Foley is not seeking re-election.

Candidates are Erica Brockmyer, Andrew Chestnut, Jamaica Miles, Samuel Rose and Prince Sprauve.  More information is posted on our website.

Information regarding absentee ballots and voting locations is posted here.  If you have any questions about voting, please call Martha Morris, clerk of the board at 518-370-8100 Ext. 40105 or email morrism@schenectady.k12.ny.us
