A republic is a country with a president.

It is our country.

"Indivisible."
Indivisible means it can not be divided.

liberty and justice for all."
Liberty means freedom to think and act and speak.
Justice means everyone should be treated equally.
In 1923 the words changed from
"to
my flag" to "to the flag."
In October 1942 Congress made the pledge official.
In 1954 the words "under God" were added to the pledge by Congress.
