Career Day evolved as a result of previous successes at our district's other two Elementary Schools.  The funding was provided by Pashley PTA and a grant through Schenectady County School-to-Work partnership.

On Career Day, several members of the community will share their work experiences with the students at Pashley School.   They will describe various aspects of their job such as salary, education required, job skills necessary, and opportunities and perspectives in their field.

The career plan concept is intended to promote exploration and research into broad career areas of interests to individual students.  It is not the intent of this plan to limit options, but to assist children in determining:

                                        ·  Interest and abilities
                                        ·  Long term goals
                                         · Individual plans for success

It will also provide the community an opportunity to take an active role in the education of our students.

At the culmination of Career Day, students will be expected to complete a technology project which will foster ongoing exploration and understanding of career opportunities relevant to their individual interests and needs.
