The Living Environment
Plants are living things.
Plants require air, water, food, and light in order to live.
Plants have life cycles. Each plant goes through its own
stage of growth and development that may include seed, young plant, and mature plant. A seed, with enough water, soil, and sunlight, can grow into a
new plant. When the seed begins to grow, the plant
sends down roots and pushes up its stems and leaves.
The plant will look just like the plant it came from.
Over time, the plant will make seeds of its own. These
seeds will travel by way of wind, water, or
animals, and will be planted in the soil.
The
plant life cycle starts all over again.
