KINDERGARTEN ACTIVITIES
Get the Picture Time Line from your teacher. Cut it out and arrange the pictures in order from Little Lincoln to Big Lincoln.
Students will learn the song THERE’S A PICTURE ON MY PENNY and TRAIN IS A-COMING in Music Class.

In Art Class, students will make Lincoln’s boyhood cabin.
Students will make a penny necklace in class.
FIRST GRADE ACTIVITIES
Get the time line from your teacher and follow the directions.
Students will learn the songs HOORAY FOR MR. LINCOLN and GET ON BOARD in Music Class.
Students will construct the front of Lincoln’s boyhood cabin from corrugated board in Art Class.

Get the worksheet from your teacher and arrange the pictures in time line order.
Students will learn the songs HOORAY FOR MISTER LINCOLN and BATTLE HYMN OF THE REPUBLIC in Music Class.
Students will construct the front of Lincoln’s boyhood cabin from craft sticks in Art Class.
THIRD GRADE ACTIVITIES
Trace the routes on a map showing where Lincoln moved during his life. Use the time line you are given for information.
Students will learn the songs HE’S GOT THE WHOLE WORLD IN HIS HANDS and ALL DAY, ALL NIGHT.
"During Media Center time,"
During Media Center time, investigate what the towns that Lincoln lived in looked like. Using cardboard and corrugated, and other supplies, construct the front of a building that would have been around during his time. This will be done in Art Class.
Get the question sheet from the teacher and answer the questions that are about the time line you have.

FOURTH GRADE ACTIVITIES
Pick 10 dates and events in Lincoln’s life. Draw a 3x5 inch picture about each event with the date included. Arrange in time line order on a long strip of paper.
In Music Class, students will learn the songs THIS TRAIN and ALL DAY, ALL NIGHT.
"During Media Center time,"
During Media Center time, investigate flat bottomed boats that were used during Lincoln’s time to ship supplies. In Art Class, construct a flat bottomed boat from craft sticks or sticks from trees. Using different art supplies, load the boat with supplies.
Get the worksheet of Lincoln quotes from the teacher and do either Activity A or Activity B.
FIFTH GRADE ACTIVITIES
Get the sheet from the teacher and construct a time line on it, following the directions on the sheet.
Songs: BATTLE CRY OF FREEDOM, WHEN JOHNNY COMES MARCHING HOME, and SEASONED SPIRITUALS FOR SPIRITED SINGERS will be learned in Music Class.
"During Media Center time,"
During Media Center time, investigate what the insides of buildings during Lincoln’s time looked like. These buildings would include log cabins, stores, meeting houses, boarding houses, hotels, eating establishments, livery stables, and large houses. In Art Class, using a box, construct a diorama of the inside of one of the buildings you have investigated.
Using the document provided, answer the questions on the sheet the teacher will provide .
