Re: Schenectady City School District Teacher of the Year Nominations 2021-22

The Schenectady City School District and the Schenectady City School District Educational Foundation recognize that excellence within education begins with teachers.  We are currently accepting nominations for 2022 Schenectady Teacher of the Year.  Think about a colleague who is deserving of acknowledgement and nominate this individual.

Criteria for Selection:

The nominee must be an exceptionally skilled and dedicated teacher who works directly with children at any level from pre-kindergarten through grade 12 with a minimum of five years of teaching experienceThe Teacher of the Year should be a leader who inspires students of all backgrounds and competencies to learn, works with families to support student learning, and has a passion for supporting and leading anti-racist work.

If you wish to nominate a teacher, please complete the attached form.  All nominees will be informed of their nomination and will be asked if they wish to accept.  If a nominee chooses to move forward in the process, the individual who makes the nomination may choose to assist the nominee in the gathering of artifacts to support the nomination, including but not limited to letters/statements from students, parents, co-workers, and community members.  The nominee will be asked to submit a resume, a professional biography, artifacts and respond to a written prompt.

A committee will select Schenectady’s Teacher of the Year.  All nominations should be sent to Dr. Lorenda Chisolm, Assistant Superintendent of Teaching and Learning no later than November 5,2021.
