Congratulations to the MST Students Awarded In
Schenectady High School's Five Star Recognition Program

T
he 5 Star recognition program is designed to recognize students who demonstrate achievement in the following areas: academics, activities, attendance, athletics, and attitude.

This program allows students to achieve recognition “stars” in any or all of the above mentioned categories.  Listed below, is a brief summation of the criteria for each category:

Academics: A student will receive a certificate each quarter for 85% or higher in all credited subjects.  A student will receive a star at the end of the year if the student has been on the honor roll for the first 3 quarters of the year.

Activities: A student must be involved in one or more activities during the school year.

Athletics: A student must participate in, and complete, two sports activities during the school year.

Attendance: Students will receive certificates each quarter for 1 or less absences.  The final star will be awarded for 98% or better attendance.

Attitude: A student must complete a full year of school without any referrals.

*For an in-depth description of criteria, please reference the MST House Agenda that is given to each student at the beginning of the school year.

Applications are now being accepted for this program, in order to determine which students should receive recognition for their performance in the second quarter.

However, the MST house faculty and staff wanted to take the time to acknowledge the students who participated in this program and received awards for their efforts here at Schenectady High School.  Perhaps this is because an amazing 47% of the 5 Star award recipients were MST students!  Congrats to the students and the folks at home who support them!
