Ryan Zielinski, a 2009 graduate of Schenectady High School and now a freshman baseball player at Castleton College in Vermont had a successful first season.  Zielinski was named rookie of the year in the NEAC East, selected to the NEAC East All-Conference Team, named to the New England Intercollegiate Baseball Association All-Region team  and to the ECAC All-New England Second Team.

Zielinski led Castleton in runs batted in with 50, had the second highest team batting average (.363), had the highest team slugging percentage (.529) and led with 74 hits.  

Zielinski wears #3 for the Spartans and plays second base, short stop and pitches.
