Did You
Know?
While playing outside
in warm weather, children need at least 10 gulps (about 5 ounces) of water
every 20 minutes. As spring and summer approach, encourage your child to
drink lots of water. For more safety tips, visit

A Special Reminder for everyone who picks up a child in a car
When the
red lights are flashing it is illegal to pass a school bus.
Please do not circumvent this by driving on the grass or in a
roundabout way to avoid the bus. This is for the safety of all
the children at Yates. Thank you for remembering this rule. |
|
|
|
School starts at 9 a.m. and ends at 3:15 p.m.
Please
do not send your child in to school before 8:30 a.m. since we do
not have supervision for them before breakfast time.
Dismissal is at 3:15 daily (unless staying for extended day).
All children should be picked up promptly if they are not taking
the bus home. If you will be delayed, please call and let us
know. It disrupts everyone's schedule when children are not
picked up on time and upsets the child. If your child rides the
bus, we must have a note indicating a pick-up instead.
Changes in bus pick-up should always be indicated in writing.
Without a note or phone call, we will follow the regular
dismissal routine for your child. |
|
|
|
Now that the weather is warmer,
the children will be going outside daily (unless it is raining).
Please make sure they have alight jacket and sneakers to go out
and play in. Spring showers bring mud puddles and although we
try to keep the children out of them, sometimes it just happens.

Just a reminder...
Yates is
an Arts in Education Magnet School and we try to provide the
children with many hands on arts activities which means they
will be painting, using chalks, and other art supplies in their
classrooms. If your child wears an outfit that you do not want
them to get dirty, please send a note to the teacher and remind
your child to wear a smock for the art project. We don't use art
materials only on art day. We want your child to be immersed in
the arts! |
