Congratulations to Debra Borden’s 6th grade class at
Woodlawn Elementary School which recently won the Best Class
Work award for their submission, "Andinka," in the
“Celebrate Africa!” student art exhibition at Proctor’s
Theatre.
Students from 23 schools from 12 school districts submitted
almost 800 pieces of work, including masks, sculpture,
paintings, fabric arts, digital art and jewelry. Almost every
grade is represented, with group projects from elementary
students and individual work from middle and high school
students.
Three judges and more than 400 people voted on their favorite
pieces to select the three individual winners along with a
winning class for their work.
