Woodlawn
staff takes on members of the SHS Basketball Team
Several members
of the Schenectady High School Boys Varsity Basketball Team,
stopped by Woodlawn Elementary School last week to play a
friendly game of hoop against some of the school staff.
The game was a month-end wrap-up and was part of treat for
students who went the month without a discipline or bus referral
Among the
Schenectady High School team paticipants were Darius Macon and
Cody Shaeffer who once attended Woodlawn and had positive things
to say.
"I remember all
of the great teachers that were here, and loved being a student
at Woodlawn," said Macon. Schaeffer offered some advice to
the students. "Be sure to listen to your teachers as much
as you can," he said.
While the game
was tightly contested, with several lead changes and big shots,
the Woodlawn Wildcats were victorious 57-54. Macon led all
scorers with 16 points and 12 rebounds. Schaeffer added
seven assits.
School social
worker Marcie "Marksman" Mastrogiovanni lead the way for
Woodlawn with eight point and an "epic" steal. Matthew
"Hoops" Hyland added nine rebounds and Anthony "Air" Sementilli
finished with eight assists.
Woodlawn School
Principal Joe DiCaprio extends a huge thanks to Coach Eric
Loudis and his team for being "terrific representatives of our
district."
