students launch to chapter two
Keane
Elementary School second graders recently completed "The
Launching," which is the first unit in the Writing Workshop
Model. The students celebrated by sharing stories with
each other. They practiced presentation skills such as
sitting up straight, reading with loud voice and holding their
papers so the audience can see their faces as they read.
As audience members, the students were responsible for listening
to the story so they could tell what it was about. They
also had to rate the presentations by giving a thumbs up or
sideways for fluency and reader's presentation. The
students will tackle next unit of study, "Small Moment," during
October and November.
