Graders visit museum
to study art, learn about curation

Hunt's 3rd grade
classes at William C. Keane Elementary School delved into the
world of contemporary art and museum curation earlier this month
when they took a trip to The Tang Museum in Saratoga Springs.
The students
viewed two contemporary exhibits, The Jewel Thief and
Opener 20, Paula Hayes Understory. They learned how
a curator decides where artwork is placed in a museum and what
abstract art is relative to
 realistic
or representational art.
The 3rd graders
put their own creative talents to work when they created
contemporary art projects emulating pieces in The Jewel Thief
show.
