Keane students have fun while they learn about safety

The students at Keane Elementary School to tips and practiced staying safe at a Safety Celebration Barbecue held at the school on Monday.

Everyone learned the best way to get out of the house in the event of a fire thanks to Firefighter Jim who was on hand with his smokehouse.  Members of Mohawk Ambulance Service gave the students some pointers on how to help someone if they are hurt during a fire.  Officer Leffingwell and his dog Zimmer demonstrated how dogs can help keep people safe as well.

Students enjoyed getting their faces painted.  MacNtosh the clown also joined the celebration and made the students balloon art creatures.

The STOP DWI/Traffic Safety gave away more than 50 bicycle helmets.  Martin, Hardin and Mazzotti donated a new bike which was raffled off and presented to a lucky winner.
