Keane
Students Team Up With Young Readers Across the Country to "Read
for the Record"
On Thursday,
October 8 the students in grades K-2 at Keane Elementary School
teamed up with more than a million children across the country
to read "The Very Hungry Caterpillar," by Eric Carle for
Jumpstart's fourth annual
Read for the Record campaign.
After listening
to the story, the students created beautiful caterpillar
drawings, completed writing assignments and made their own "Very
Hungry Caterpillar" books.
Over the past
three years, more than a million people have participated in
Jumpstart's Read for the Record campaign.
Jumpstart
is a leading nonprofit organization dedicated to ensuring that
every child in America enters school prepared to succeed.
