Second Graders Enjoy Visit to Museum

The second graders at  Keane Elementary School certainly agree with the "2009 Best of the Capital Region," Times Union poll results which named The Children's Museum of Science and Technology as the "best museum for kids."

Jamie Daus' and Susan Look's second grade classes had the opportunity to visit the museum on November 10 and apply their science skills during presentations about the lifecycle of mammals, reptiles and amphibians.  They learned the difference between a complete and incomplete lifecycle.  "What really got them excited was the fact that they were allowed to touch the live animals such as the corn snake and box turtle," said Look.

The students also spent some time exploring various parts of the museum and completed a scavenger hunt.  They topped off their adventure in the planetarium where the students stretched out on cushions on the floor to watch a favorite show, The Zula Patrol, which was about weather on Earth and the planets in our solar system.
