Keane
Elementary School kids care about their hearts and want to
do everything they can to keep them healthy. They
learned a little bit more about how to do that at Family
Sweetheart Night held at the school recently.
The students received
many health tips on food, exercise and yes, dental care.
They learned that fruits and vegetables are more heart
healthy snacks than cookies and candy. Exercise can be
fun while at the same time keeping the heart healthy and
strong. Keeping teeth clean by brushing at least twice
a day also helps to keep the heart healthy.
The event was sponsored
by the Keane PPT/PTO. Many groups helped to make the
event a success including Cornell Cooperative Extension,
Girls Incorporated, Emblem Health Services, Zippy the Clown,
Applebees, American Heart Association and all of the staff
members and parents of Keane.
