H1N1 Clinics

Schenectady County Public Health Services will be offering the H1N1 flu vaccine to Schenectady students throughout the next several weeks.  Clinics will be set up in each school.  You can only sign up to receive the vaccination when it becomes available at your school and on the scheduled date.  Consent forms and other information will be sent home with your child prior to the clinic date.  There is no cost for the vaccine.

Clinics are currently scheduled as follows:

Tuesday, November 17, 2009
Blodgett Elementary School
This clinic is for Blodgett students only.
Consent is due back to school by November 13.

Thursday, November 19, 2009
Elmer Avenue Elementary School
This clinic is for Elmer Avenue students only.
Consent form is due back to school by November 16.

If you do not return the consent form, your child will not be vaccinated.

The United States Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommend that children and young adults aged 6 months through 24 years be vaccinated against 2009 H1N1 as soon as the vaccine is available.

Other clinic dates will be posted as soon as they are available.

If you have any questions about the vaccine or school clinics, please call 386-2824 between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. on Monday - Friday.

Other important information is available at the CDC's 2009 H1N1 website at http://www.cdc.gov/h1n1flu/ and also http://www.cdc.gov/h1n1flu/parents.  Your child's health care provider can also answer your questions about the 2009 H1N1 flu vaccine and virus.
