Getting
your child set for kindergarten is easier than ever at the

About the kindergarten program
The kindergarten instructional program is the building block for
lifelong learning. Our goal is to build a solid foundation
and make your child's education experience as enriching as
possible.
At
Schenectady City Schools, we recognize that children develop and
learn at different rates and in different ways. All
students must be provided opportunities to meet or exceed
challenging learning standards, to perform at their best and
reach their full individual academic potential. The
social, emotional, and physical health and development of
students plays an integral role to ensuring student success.
We
constantly strive to provide high quality educational programs
that are consistent across all of our elementary schools and are
aligned with the district mission as well as New York State
Learning Standards.
The kindergarten program is offered all elementary school sites.
Please go to our
attendance zones page to find your neighborhood elementary
school and view district attendance boundary information.
