Quilt Created By SHS Students, Teacher Hangs in Proctors

Schenectady High School teacher/fiber artist Peg Foley along with about 75 of her students recently created 80 acetate quilt squares that hang in five panels as part of the “Primary Rhythm,” participatory installation at Proctor’s Theatre.  The piece, “Rhythm,” will hang for one month beginning October 19.

Students in four of Foley’s classes including craft design, drawing and myths and legends classes contributed to the project.

About 300 people stopped by to see the creation during Art Night Schenectady at Proctors on October 19.  Many helped complete the final layer of the piece.  "It was quite exciting," said Foley.
