Steinmetz Career
and Leadership Academy Receives Lowe's Grant for School
Courtyard Project
Thanks
to a Lowe’s Toolbox for Educator’s grant, the courtyard at the
Steinmetz Career and Leadership Academy will get a lift.
Nearly $5,000 was awarded to teacher James Keough for a
“Courtyard Beautification and Modernization” project. Keough,
who teaches property management and building maintenance, said
among other things, the funds will be used to build courtyard
benches and tables for the students to use. The grant was
written through the school’s parent partnership team.
The Steinmetz
Career and Leadership Academy is one of more than 450 schools to
be awarded the grant for parent initiated school improvement
projects.
Now in its 5th
year of helping build better schools and communities, the Lowe’s
Toolbox for Education program has provided more than $20 million
to nearly 5,000 schools across the country. Grants up to $5,000
are available to public schools in the U.S. for a wide range of
improvement projects.
