The SHS Jazz Ensemble went to SUNY Oneonta last month to participate in the Oneonta Jazz Festival.   The group played three charts: Manteca, Swingin' the Blues and Down at the Lark. The judges had great things to say and were so happy that the band played at such a high level.

Throughout the day, there were a variety of jam sessions including a New Orleans Brass Band style session and a session with the SUNY Oneonta Alumni rhythm section! Also, trumpet player extraordinaire, Ray Vega, presented a clinic and gave an inspiring concert!

Oneida Middle School and Central Park International Magnet School Jazz Bands performed at the event as well.
