Two SHS Seniors Take Second Place in
State Virtual Skills Competition

Competing next for spot in nationals

Congratulations to Schenectady High School seniors Ben Veglia and Domenic Penman who  recently placed second in the first round of the CISCO Networking Academy Virtual Skills Challenge-Netriders state competition.  They now advance to round two where they will compete for a place in the national finals.

Veglia and Penman are both members of Schenectady High School's Edison School of Math Science and Technology and in their second year of the Cisco Networking Academy Program.

NetRiders is a virtual competition leveraging Web 2.0 technologies to enhance classroom learning by challenging students to put their newly learned skills to the test and compete against their peers across the US and Canada.  Participants achieve high standards of competence, develop their collaborative and technical skills and further enhance their IT education and training.
