Two SHS Seniors
Take Second Place in
State Virtual Skills Competition
Competing next for spot in nationals
Congratulations
to Schenectady High School seniors Ben Veglia and Domenic Penman
who recently placed second in the first round of the CISCO
Networking Academy Virtual Skills Challenge-Netriders state
competition. They now advance to round two where they will
compete for a place in the national finals.
Veglia and Penman
are both members of Schenectady High School's Edison School of
Math Science and Technology and in their second year of the
Cisco
Networking Academy Program.
NetRiders is a
virtual competition leveraging Web 2.0 technologies to enhance
classroom learning by challenging students to put their newly
learned skills to the test and compete against their peers
across the US and Canada. Participants achieve high
standards of competence, develop their collaborative and
technical skills and further enhance their IT education and
training.
