High School Students Learn About Careers

Schenectady High School 11th and 12th graders spent some time learning about more than 10 career fields at the annual GE Career Day held at the end of April.

The event did not focus specifically on potential careers for the college bound.  It was also an opportunity for those students who are not planning to go on to college to take a peek at possible job opportunities out there for them.   

The fair included representatives from the New York State Police, Price Chopper, Sunmark Federal Credit Union, Schenectady ARC, Schenectady Fire Department, Schenectady Animal Protective Foundation, Schenectady Police Department, Patsy Grieco, a local tattoo artist, Schenectady Affirmative Action, Schenectady County Sherriff's Department and the Hudson Valley Community College Criminal Justice Department.
