SHS sophomore takes 2nd place in OVA competition
 Congratulations
to Schenectady High School sophomore Jeff Leavitt who finished
in second lace at the 29th annual NYS Olympics of the
Visual Arts (OVA) competition held at the Saratoga Springs City
Center.
Competitors solve
a long-term problem developed by OVA
as
well as a spontaneous visual art problem.
“The award is an
accomplishment of great distinction for Jeff, Schenectady High
School and the Schenectady City School District,” said Robert
Hyndman, Leavitt’s ceramics 1 teacher.
Leavitt’s
sculpture was displayed at the SCSD Art Show at Rotterdam Square
Mall last month.
OVA is sponsored
by the NYS Art Teachers Association.
