Center Students Attend Business Dinner,
Learn Proper Business Etiquette
Students
from the Career Center at Steinmetz learned about business
dining recently when they attended a business dinner held in The
Van Curler Dining Room at Schenectady County Community College.
The dinner,
funded by a Teacher Center grant, gave students an opportunity
to experience business dining, learn about proper etiquette at
business functions and mingle with businessmen and women.
They also studied dining and business etiquette to prepare for
the event.
Students
had their choice of chicken dijon or beef bourguignon, prepared
and served by culinary students at the college. They
practiced business mingling with with Ed Kosiur of the
Schenectady County Youth Bureau, Gary Comley, associate
superintendent of Schenectady High School and faculty from the
Career Center.
Joshua Murphy,
a graduate of Schenectady was the guest speaker. He delivered a
motivational message and encouraged students to shoot for their
dreams. He also told the group, "it is okay to make
mistakes as long as you learn from those mistakes."
