Robotics competition season underway
ITT Tech presents check to SHS club

The SHS Robotics Club is off to a great start for the 2010-11 competition season.   The team participated in the US FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition in Science and Technology) and FRC (FIRST Robotics Competition) hosted by a ITT Technical Institute on September 8.

ITT Tech generously presented Schenectady High Robotics Club with a check for $6,500 to initiate a FRC team this year.  The 31 Schenectady High School club members and their advisors Mike Gauthier, Tom Patterson, and Kevin Shannon are ecstatic over the opportunities this grant will provide for students.

Earlier this spring, Bechtel/Knolls Atomic Power Lab awarded the club a generous grant sponsoring a US FIRST FTC (FIRST Tech Challenge) team at the school.  FTC Team 735, the Patriot Gamers, will be competing in FTC Regional competition in Connecticut and New York City this spring.  This is the third time the KAPL family has generously supported the SHS Robotics Club.
