SSFA Seminar Students Begin Residency
with NYC Choreographer/Performer Tuesday

Many Schenectady High School Sayles School of Fine Arts seniors will participate in a three day residency with New York City choreographer/performer Peggy Gould on January 6 – 8 in the Sayles School of Fine Arts Black Box Theatre.  Gould and company, slated to present “From Within and Outside a Bright Room”  at the Proctor’s GE Theatre on January 9,  will hold workshops on an array of exercises as well as discuss the play with the fine arts students.  The students are also invited to attend the company’s rehearsals on January 6 and 7 which will be held in the Sayles School of Fine Arts dance studio.

“From Within and Outside a Bright Room,” is an amalgam of music, dance, theater and visual media, built around text from Tony Kushner’s play “A Bright Room Called Day.”   The evening length, multidisciplinary work is the latest installment in a series of performance works begun in 1997 which Gould created from Kushner's play.  [More HERE]
