2008 SHS Graduate Performs
with U.S. Naval Academy Group at Inaugural Kick-off Sunday
Show to Air on HBO

David Woods, a 2008 graduate of Schenectady High School and current member of the United States Naval Academy Glee Club, will be performing with the group in a star-studded concert at the Lincoln Memorial on Sunday, January 18 at 2 p.m.  The event, which will kick off the 2009 Inaugural celebration, is free and open to the public.  It will be presented on HBO from 7 - 9 pm ET/PT for you to enjoy.   

The choir will be performing “You’ll Never Walk Alone” with classical artist Renee Fleming and “America the Beautiful” in a combined grand finale with a 500-voice choir and Beyonce.  The event will include an incredible lineup of celebrities.  Additional performers include Mary J. Blige, Bono, Garth Brooks, Sheryl Crow, Josh Groban, Herbie Hancock, Heather Headley, John Legend, Jennifer Nettles, John Mellencamp, Usher Raymond IV, Shakira, Bruce Springsteen, James Taylor, will.i.am, and Stevie Wonder.  Among those reading historical passages will be Jamie Foxx, Martin Luther King III, Queen Latifah and Denzel Washington.

The President Elect, his family, staff, and more than one million people  will be in attendance!
