Paper Cranes for Japan
Oneida students participate in relief effort
Oneida Middle
School students participated in the Bezos Family Foundation's
project that helped raise money for those affected by the crisis
in Japan. The foundation offered to donate $2 for every
paper crane that they received.
Oneida students
stepped up and made 153 cranes which converted to $306 for the
relief effort.
Cranes are sacred
creatures in the Japanese culture. According to legend,
anyone who folds a thousand paper cranes will be granted a wish
by a crane.
The Bezo Family
Foundation set out to collect 100,000 cranes from young people
to represent 100 wishes of support and healing for Japan.
