Schenectady Has Two New Discovery STAR Educators

Congratulations to Denee Mackey, 5th grade teacher at Woodlawn Elementary School and Rachel Rourke, 1st grade teacher at Keane Elementary School.  Both teachers recently achieved STAR Educator status as part of the Discovery Educator Network.

The Discovery Educator Network is a global community of educators who are passionate about teaching with digital media, sharing resources, collaborating and learning together.  The network includes 80,000 members and hundreds of online and in-person events each year.

Mackey and Rourke are now eligible to receive "special perks" from Discovery including the opportunity to attend summer professional development at Bentley University in MA.

Educators must apply to become part of the network.  To become a STAR Discovery Educator go to http://community.discoveryeducation.com/ and sign in using your discovery username and password.  Follow the links to become a STAR.
