Are you interested
in running for school board?
Four
seats up for election
Four board of education seats are up for election.
The top two
vote-getters will enter in to three year terms (2010-2013) and
will be sworn in on July 1, 2010.
The
candidate with the third highest number of votes will fill Joyce Wachala's term which runs through 2012. The fourth highest
vote-getter will fill Jim Casino's term which ends 2011.
Both the third and fourth place vote getters will take office on May
19, 2010.
If you are
interested in running for school board, please pick up the
nominating petitions in the clerk's office between 9 am - 4 pm.
The clerk's office is located within the district business
office in the rear of Mont Pleasant Middle School.
In order to get
on the ballot, a person must:
- reside in
the school district for at least one year immediately
preceding the election
- certify
that he or she is a qualified voter
- present at
least 100 legible signatures.
The petitions are
due in the clerk's office by 5 pm on April 28, 2010.
The ballot
drawing will be held in the clerk's office on Thursday, April
29, 2010 at 3 p.m. The names of candidates will be
arranged on the ballot in the order determined by the drawing.
The board
election will take place on May 18, 2010.
Directions
The
business office is located in the back of Mont Pleasant Middle
School (108 Education Dr.) Go to the back of the school building (Education Drive) by the
football field. Go to the end - near the gymnasium.
Enter through double doors where
"Board of Education
Headquarters" is posted. Go straight through doorway &
sign in. Take a right through the double doors, down the
steps and all the way to the end of the hall to the business
office.
