Mont Pleasant is Taking Care of Cold Toes
4th Annual Sock Collection

The students and staff of Mont Pleasant Middle School are collecting new and gently used socks to give to local families who need them.

Donations are being collected at three locations within Mont Pleasant.  Boxes are located in the main office of the school, the administrative entranceway and in the facilities department.  A collection box will also be placed at the Mont Pleasant voting site on November 3.

The sock collection will run through January 15, 2010.

The socks will be presented to the nurses who will distribute them to families at both Mont Pleasant Middle School and the Academy of Culture and Communication at Pleasant Valley.  The donations will also be turned over to Fred Lee, president of the New Hamilton Hill Association, who will distribute them to those in need in the Hamilton Hill neighborhood.

This is the 4th consecutive year that Mont Pleasant has held the sock drive.  Last year the school collected about 400 pairs.
