Business Manager/Board Clerk
Is Awarded  Scholarship

Congratulations to Sal DeAngelo, Schenectady City School District's Business Manager/Board Clerk who has been named a MetLife Resources/ASBO International Bridges to the Future Scholarship recipient.

The Bridges to the Future Scholarship program was developed by MetLife Resources and the Association of School Business Officials International (ASBO) to recognize and support school business officials who have five years or less experience in the field and who are interested in further developing their knowledge, skills and leadership. DeAngelo was named the district's business administrator/board clerk this past July.

“Our schools depend on strong leadership from school business administration officials for success. Salvatore’s dedication to this field, as well as his high standards, has made him an emerging leader in this area,” said Thomas G. Hogan Jr., senior vice president and head of MetLife Resources. “MetLife is proud to support Salvatore’s future development, as well as the development of others, through the Bridges to the Future Scholarship Program.”

Through the program, honorees receive a $2,000 scholarship to attend the ASBO International 95th Annual Meeting and Exhibits in Chicago, Illinois in October 2009. Recipients also attend a special pre-conference workshop and networking luncheon at the Annual Meeting and have free access to the ASBO International Live Learning Center, which features more than 75 hours of professional development education from the 2009 Annual Meeting sessions.

“The Bridges to the Future Scholarship Program is a great professional development experience,” noted John D. Musso, RSBA, ASBO Executive Director. “It gives us the opportunity to welcome Salvatore to the field and recognizes his excellent work. ASBO is pleased to honor Salvatore and other promising school business officials through this program.”
