Congratulations Aden Brooks
Musician receives prestigious invitation

Samuel 'Aden' Brooks, a senior at the Sayles School of Fine Arts at Schenectady High School was recently selected to participate at both of the New York State School Music Association's Music Festivals this winter.

Brooks was also invited to perform in both the band and chorus for the 74th Annual Winter Music Conference on December 3-6 in Rochester.   Brooks earned this prestigious honor by earning two perfect scores at the regional New York State School Music Association (NYSSMA) Adjudication Festival last spring. Only the highest achievers from across the state are accepted to perform for this annual conference.

On November 21, Brooks performed in the Area All-State Jazz Ensemble in Saratoga Springs.

In addition to participating in Jazz Ensemble, Wind Ensemble and Chamber Choir, Brooks is involved in SCS-TV, Schenectady High School's television production studio and has held several parts with the Blue Rose's Theater Company, the high school's theater group.  He has studied dance since he was six year old.

Brooks has been a regular member of the Empire State Youth Orchestra and Jazz Ensemble and attended the New York State Summer School of Orchestral Studies.

Brooks is preparing for upcoming auditions to prestigious music schools such as Eastman, Oberlin, Ithaca, Crane and Boston University.

Congratulations.
