Mont Pleasant Student Council On a Mission
Group heads efforts to help victims in Haiti & Chili

The Mont Pleasant Middle School Student Council has been on a mission to find ways to help the victims of Haiti.  The group, led by advisors Bernice Rivera and Jenifer Scharphron, have collected an array of items like diapers, can good, toothbrushes, and other daily need items to donate to an organization through SUNY Albany.  Rivera said the school staff and students have donated many items.

Mont Pleasant is also hosting a family and school night to get everyone together to package the items.  They will enjoy snacks and work together to make a difference. 

Rivera said the drive is ongoing. The group will also donate to earthquake relief in Chile, South America.
