Lincoln students
have fun learning about careers
The students at Lincoln Elementary School had an opportunity to
talk to many professionals and learn about an array of careers during
the school’s Career Week which was held beginning October 26.
A fireman, TV anchorwoman, lawyer, nurse, computer specialist,
professor, real-estate appraiser, pharmacist and many more area
professionals spoke to the students about each of their careers
as well as the importance of doing well in school and getting a
good education.
At the end of the week, the students dressed up as the career
person they would like to become. They had an opportunity to
show off their career look as they walked in a parade of
professionals. The teachers at Lincoln incorporated a
variety of
activities in to the career day including writing exercises and
making posters and dioramas.
“It was a great success and is something we look forward to
continuing each year,” said Melissa DiGiovanni, instructional
coach at Lincoln.
