A Day
Made Better
OfficeMax surprises Lincoln teacher Wed. with supplies and
more
Gretchen Zebrowski, a second grade teacher at Lincoln
Elementary, got a big surprise Tuesday morning as she was
presented with more than $1,000 dollars worth or school supplies
and a digital camera from OfficeMax as part of their “A Day Made
Better” event.
Representatives from the OfficeMax in Rotterdam carted several
boxes full of notebooks, pens, pencils, book bags, dry erase
markers and other supplies right to Zebrowski’s classroom. She
was nominated to receive the award by Lincoln’s principal, Pedro
Roman.
“Mrs. Zebrowski is a passionate teacher and she brings a
positive, enthusiastic attitude to work everyday,” said Roman.
“Like many of our teachers, she spends her own money on library
resources and in-class supplies to make lessons more engaging
for students.”
In addition to the digital camera Zebrowski received, a second
camera was given to Lincoln for school-wide use.
Tuesday marked the fifth year of the “A Day Made Better”
program, in which OfficeMax associates surprise 1,000 teachers
nationwide with $1,000 worth of supplies. The event is designed
to recognize and celebrate educators in a memorable way, while
bringing attention to the fact that they often spend their own
money for the betterment of their classroom.
