Congratulations to the
2009 IB Diploma Candidates

Mercy Alila
Mercy will study pre-engineering at Hartwick College in the fall.  She plans on taking the 3-2 program and then transferring to Columbia University.  Mercy said her favorite IB moment was the end of IB exams on May 21 and DTech - "fun time."  She also said "Dr. Wolos is a riot."  Mercy's favorite times in high school were enjoying lunch with her friends everyday.

Benjamin Boese
Benjamin will attend Schenectady County Community College in the fall and then go on to a four year college.  He said his favorite IB moments were finishing the IB tests and Dr. Wolos.  "Making an amazing comeback against Nisky on swim team," was also a moment that stands out for Benjamin.

Sara Bonacquist
Sara is headed to the SUNY School of Environmental Science and Forestry at Syracuse University.  Sara said she enjoyed all of high school but her most memorable IB moment was finishing the last exam.

Ethan Brooks-McDonald
Ethan will attend Bates College.  His favoriate memorable IB moment was "Doc Wo" (Dr. Wolos).  He said his most memorable high school moment was performing in the Blue Roses Theatre Company's "The Last Glass Menagerie."

Jinny Cheung
Jinny is headed to Syracuse University.  Her favorite IB class was TOK (Theory of Knowledge).  "Dr. Wolos was a great teacher for TOK and allowed us to soak in everything that we did with his thought-invoking ways," said Jinny.

Alexandra Forst
Alexandra will attend Hartwick college in the fall.  Her favorite IB class was 9th grade Connections with Ms. Horowitz and her renaissance artist project on Paolo Uccello.  "I did a replica of one of his paintings," said Alexandra.  Alexandra said she enjoyed all the skits and presentations in her classes.  "They were always funny and made me nervous but were worth it."

Andy Hariraj
Andy will attend SUNY Albany in the fall.  He said his favorite IB moment was the first week of TOK (Theory of Knowledge).  "Everything I know and love is a lie," said Andy.  He said the most memorable high school moment was the creation of the super fly in biology lab.

Aubree Heydrick
Aubree is headed to Union College.  She said her favorite IB memory is Dr. Wolo's English class.  She also enjoyed the field trip to Boston in 10th grade and TOK (Theory of Knowledge) class.

Corinne Higgins
Corinne will study electrical engineering at Clarkson University in the fall.  Her favorite IB moment was the TOK internal assessment presentation.  Corinne said she enjoyed being the only girl in her Basic Electronics class and having the highest average in the ninth grade.

Lincoln (Mac) Hull
Mac will attend Yale University in the fall.  His favorite IB class was TOK.  Mac said he enjoyed "sprinting around the hallways of the school while towing Ben Clark on a small cart - in the name of physics, of course."

Brian Janiszewski
Brian is headed to SUNY Albany.  "IB physics was a super fun time," said Brian.

Anushka Kalicahran
Anushka will study engineering at the Rochester Institute of Technology.  Her favorite IB moment was Design Tech final project.  The trip to Paris, France was Anushka's favorite high school memory.

William Landis
Bill will attend SUNY Binghamton in the fall.  His favorite moment was winning gender wars in TOK.

Jennifer Nechamen
Jennifer will attend SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry.  Her favorite IB class was Ms. Libertucci's 11th grade IB English class.  Jennifer also enjoyed the Historical Fiction project in Ms. Van Nostrand's class in 11th grade.  "Although IB was a ton of stress, it was beyond worth it," said Jennifer.  "There were so many interesting things we got to do that we wouldn't have otherwise.  I learned an incredible amount of stuff."   Jennifer said one of her favorite high school moments was opening night of "Pippen" during her freshmen year.

Loreto Pantano
Loreto is headed to George Washington University where he will pursue a degree in science, engineering and nanotechnology.  Kasandra Jackson, Loreto's guidance counselor said, "Academic challenge seems to bring out the best in him.  Loreto has gained wide respect from the school community for his athletic ability and musical talents."

Peter Shapiro
Peter will attend American University in the fall.

Anthony Staccone
Anthony will be attending Harvard College in the fall.  His favorite memories include reading Spanish poetry and traveling to France and Spain during 11th and 12th grade spring breaks.

Haley Van Bellingham
Haley will attend SUNY Morrisville.  Haley said she enjoyed "getting to know people in art class as friends and everything she learned in Connections class."  "My favorite high school moment was going to Hudson Valley for sectionals with my basketball team and representing Schenectady.

Alexandra Weisse
Alexandra is headed to Union College.  Her favorite IB class was IB English (junior year) and the junior IB History Civil War project.
