Winter is finally here!
Remember hats and gloves. We have completed Unit 3 in Reading and
have completed the third unit test together. The students are
familiar with the three parts: Listening and Note taking, Writing
and Reading. The next unit test will be completed independently and
scored. In January, we studied about Dr. Martin Luther King's life
and his contributions to our lives today.
We are also studying
Famous Black Americans for Black History Month. In mathematics, the
students have completed unit 5 on shapes, line segments, etc. In
unit 6, they are learning more addition and subtraction of 2 digit
numbers with trading. Please check over their homework and review
addition and subtraction daily. They need to be memorizing the basic
facts to assist them with more complex problems now.
We will be
celebrating Valentine's Day on Feb. 14, so watch for a letter coming
home soon.
