Howe collects
books, develops book sharing program
December was an exciting month for the students at Howe Early
Childhood Education Center. The school, which opened as an
early childhood center just last year, did not have any books
available for the students to take home. Earlier this
month kindergarten teacher Kimberly Garrity came up with a
solution. She began collecting hundreds of books so the
school could offer a library book sharing program. The
Howe School staff worked together after school to collect and
organize the donations. "Howe Book Bags," are now
available for the children to take home. According to
Garrity, the students have been very excited to take the books
home to read.
