Second-Graders Show Off Playwriting, Stage Skill
 Kristin
Munrett's second grade class at Hamilton Elementary School put
their playwriting and acting skills to work. The students
recently collectively wrote two plays which they then performed
on the school stage.
The plays were
based on two classroom favorite books, Enemy Pie by Derek
Munson and Lazy Ozzie by Michael Coleman.
 Enemy
Pie is about a boy who wants to "get rid of" his
enemy, Jeremy Ross - the new boy at school.
Lazy Ozzie
is the story of an owl whose mother wants him to learn how to
fly by the time she returns to the barn. Ozzie, who
however has no interest in learning, does come up with a
creative way to get off his perch.
The creative
second graders also designed the scenery for the plays with the
help of art teacher Melody York.
