Thanks to OfficeMax,
Hamilton Kindergarten Teacher's Day Was Made Better
Alissa
Graham, kindergarten teacher at Hamilton Elementary School was
recently awarded classroom materials, a digital camera and new
leather desk chair from Office Max. Teachers all across the
country received similar donations through the company’s “A Day
Made Better” program. The event is designed to bring awareness
to the money that teachers spend on school supplies.
On October 6,
1,000 teachers across the country, including Graham, all
selected by their principals were recognized through the
campaign.
The
nationwide event included surprise in-class ceremonies where
teacher recipients received more than $1,000 worth of supplies
per teacher. OfficeMax worked with Adopt-A-Classroom to
identify schools and teachers across the United States. Graham
was nominated by Hamilton Elementary School Principal Rob
Flanders.
Teachers spend on
average $1,000 of their own money each year to offset school
budget shortfalls and ensure their students have the necessary
classroom resources for learning.
