Travel Bear Project

Jean McCrum's second grade class at Hamilton Elementary School is having a blast with "The Travel Bear Project," which is a spin-off of the book Flat Stanley.  Flat Stanley traveled all over the world and shared his adventures.  Travel Bear will be sharing his adventures too.

How It Works
The class mailed out the bear and a journal with direction to people all over the world...including some close to home.  The person who gets the bear is asked to do something in their community with the "Travel Bear" and then email back, write a journal entry to let the class know what they did with the bear, provide information about the community including famous places or monuments and then mail the bear and journal off to someone else they know far away.   The journal include directions for the person who ha it in Mail to mail it back to the second graders at Hamilton.

At the end of he year, McCrum and her students will invite parents, the principal and any local people who had he bear to come in and listen to the students read the journal about where "Travel Bear" visited.
