Career
Center Senior Takes First Place
in Regional Media Arts Competition
Congratulations
to Jennifer Mootoo, a senior in Schenectady High School's Career
Center at Steinmetz, who recently won first place in the Capital
Region Media Arts 2009 Festival and Competition.
More than 300
students representing 15 local schools, submitted entries in to
the competition which showcases high school media art works
including photography, computer art, graphic design, music, film
and illustration.
Mootoo took the
top spot in the Computer, Digital Fine Art category for
her Photoshop/Ink Jet work, "Bolly Dolly."
Joe Sowers, a
senior in the G.E. School of Humanities and Culture at
Schenectady High School earned an honorable mention in the
Computer, Digital Illustration category for Photoshop/Inkjet
submission of "Issues."
Awards are
presented to the top three place getters and honorable mention
for each of the categories. Mootoo and Sowers will be
honored at the closing reception and awards ceremony on
Thursday, April 29 at 6:30 pm at Niskayuna High School.
