Fine Arts In Schenectady
This Autumn
Landscape Collage was painted by Elmer Avenue first grader
Madison Maggs.
Throughout this
project, the first graders were learning about foreground,
middle ground, background and how to make things in their
landscape look closer or farther away.
The students
looked at many different landscapes for reference and practiced
tearing their paper instead of cutting. Art teacher Robyn
Cross talked with them about overlapping, various kinds of
lines, sizes and they did an experiment that proved that
something looks smaller when it is farther away.
