High school students get up close & personal look
at careers during day long job shadow program

About 50 Schenectady High School students will get an up close and personal look at an array of potential careers when they not only visit the workplace of local professionals but have an opportunity to shadow them as they work on Wednesday, March 2, 2011.  The 4th annual Job Shadow/Luncheon is sponsored by Schenectady County Youth Bureau, Schenectady County Community College and the Schenectady City School District.

The students will get an up close look at how the skills they are learning in school relate to the workplace.   The job shadow experience is designed to inspire students to be enthusiastic about their studies as they witness the correlation between what they are learning in the classroom and how that knowledge is used in the workplace.  The students will spend a half day at on-site orientation at a number of locations, attend in a panel discussion about the experience and enjoy lunch with their mentors at Schenectady County Community College.
