Sch'dy High faculty to take on former NY Giants
in benefit basketball game

The Schenectady High School faculty basketball team will take on five former members of the New York Giants in a benefit game on January 29 at 1 p.m. at the Pat Riley Sports Center.  Proceeds from the game will benefit Schenectady High School athletics.  The benefit event will include a free throw contest at 11 a.m. as well as raffles and prizes given out during the game.  The former Giants will also sign autographs and pose for photos at halftime.

Hunt visited Schenectady High School Thursday morning.

See Hunt and former NY Giants teammates, Steven Baker, Perry Williams, Odessa Turner, Lee Rouson, Curtis McGriff and Billy Taylor in action in a benefit basketball game against Schenectady High School faculty members on January 29.

The Giants team will consist of former NFL players Stephen Baker, linebacker Byron Hunt, cornerback Perry Williams, wide receiver Odessa Turner, running back Lee Rouson, defensive end Curtis McGriff and running back Billy Taylor, all members of the NY Giants 1986 and 1990 Super Bowl teams. 

Also part of the Giants squad is Eddie Clark of the “Waking Up with the Wolf Morning Show” on 106.5 FM.  Clark  will play point guard for his all-star team. 

Tickets purchased in advance are $5 for children and $10 for adults.  Tickets purchased at the door are $10 for children and $12 for adults.  Tickets are on sale now and  can be purchased by calling Steve Boynton at 881-3515. 

Hunt visited Schenectady High School Thursday morning when he met with athletic director Steven Boynton  and stood for photos with Superintendent Yagielski, Schenectady Mayor Brian Stratton, football coach Jim Kramer, and members of the both the Schenectady police and fire departments. 

Hunt, Baker, Williams, Turner, Rouson, McGriff and Taylor will join Eddie Clark every Monday at 7:15 a.m. on 106.5 FM throughout the NFL playoffs. 

A post basketball party will be held at the Recovery Room Sports Restaurant in Albany on January 29.
